Warehouse Shelving System for Sanitary Products Warehouse in Tangerang
Warehouse Shelving System for Sanitary Products Warehouse in Tangerang

For retail operations, warehouses often store products with different sizes and weights.
This means each storage area may need a different shelving capacity and configuration.
Our customer, a sanitary products warehouse in Tangerang needed a warehouse shelving system that could accommodate different load requirements while making better use of the available space.
Instead of applying 1 standard shelving configuration throughout the facility, we decided to design a customized solution: combining Longspan Shelving System and Medium Duty Shelving System.
Project Overview
| Location | Tangerang, Indonesia |
| Industry | Retail – Sanitation & Environmental Solutions |
| Solution | Longspan Shelving + Medium Duty Shelving |
| Storage Capacity | 45 Shelves |
| Load Capacity | 750 kg per shelf |
Different Storage Requirements Within One Warehouse
Not every storage area in this warehouse required the same shelving capacity.

Some areas needed higher load capacities for heavier products, while others only required lighter-duty shelving. The available space also varied across the facility.
After assessing these requirements, we designed a warehouse shelving solution combining two systems:
#1 Longspan Shelving for Higher-Capacity Storage
Multiple configurations provide capacities ranging from 300 kg to 750 kg per shelf, allowing us to match the shelving specifications to different load requirements.
In total, the Longspan Shelving System provides 40 shelves.
Each shelf also uses 18 mm plywood decking with shelf support bars to provide additional support for the intended loads.
#2 Medium Duty Shelving for Lighter Storage Requirements
For lighter storage requirements, we used Medium Duty Shelving with a capacity of 200 kg per shelf.
The system provides an additional 5 shelves, bringing the total warehouse storage capacity to 45 shelves.
By combining the two systems, the customer receives the right shelving capacity based on the actual requirements of each area.
Why Use Different Warehouse Shelving Systems?
A higher load capacity does not automatically mean a better warehouse storage solution.
Using the highest-capacity shelving throughout the warehouse could mean over-specifying areas that simply do not need it.
That is why we consider the products, required load capacity, available space, and accessibility before selecting a warehouse shelving system.
For this project, combining Longspan and Medium Duty Shelving System creates a better balance between storage capacity, space utilization, and investment.
Maximizing Storage Around Existing Space Constraints
In this warehouse, the shelving layout needed to adapt to existing columns, walls, and the stairway area.
So, instead of leaving these areas underutilized, we adapted the shelving system to fit the available space.
Medium Duty Shelving was positioned beneath the stairway, allowing limited space to provide additional storage.
Meanwhile, Longspan Shelving was used across the larger storage areas where more vertical space and higher load capacity could be utilized.
This approach helps the customer maximize usable storage space without over-specifying every area with the same shelving system.
More importantly, the shelving was not standardized around a single specification.
Each configuration was selected based on what the customer actually needed to store and how the available warehouse space could be utilized.
The result is a warehouse storage solution designed around actual operational requirements rather than simply maximizing rack specifications.
