Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Racking

Maximize high-SKU storage capacity within limited floor space

Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) racking is a high-density storage system designed to maximize warehouse capacity by significantly reducing aisle width while increasing vertical storage.

By using specialized VNA handling equipment, this system allows warehouses to store a large number of SKUs efficiently—making it ideal for operations with limited floor area and high SKU variety that still require direct pallet access.

Why Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Racking is Suitable for You

01
Maximum Space Utilization

Narrow aisle widths and tall rack configurations allow you to significantly increase pallet positions without expanding your warehouse footprint.

02
Direct Access to High SKU Volumes

Every pallet remains individually accessible, making VNA racking suitable for operations with a wide range of SKUs and frequent picking activity.

03
Optimized for Limited Floor Area

The system is ideal when horizontal space is constrained but vertical clearance is available, enabling efficient use of building height.

04
Designed for Precision Handling

VNA racking works with guided turret trucks or VNA forklifts, supporting safe and accurate pallet handling in very narrow aisles.

How Does Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Racking Work?

Very Narrow Aisle racking is a pallet storage system that reduces aisle widths to maximize storage density while maintaining full pallet selectivity.

Pallets are stored on tall rack structures and accessed using specialized VNA equipment, such as turret trucks, which operate within narrow aisles using wire guidance or rail guidance systems. Aisle widths, rack height, and beam levels are designed based on pallet dimensions, load weights, equipment specifications, and available clear height.

This system enables high-density storage with high SKU accessibility, making it suitable for fast-moving and diverse inventory profiles.

System Structure

VNA racking consists of a reinforced modular structure designed for tall installations, including:

  • Frames – engineered uprights designed for high-bay applications
  • Beams – horizontal supports for pallet storage at multiple levels

Optional safety and system components include:

  • Guide rails or wire guidance systems
  • Pallet supports and safety bars
  • Pallet backstops
  • Frame and upright protectors
  • Strut guards and aisle-end protection
  • Rack load signage and safety labeling

These components ensure operational safety, stability, and long-term system reliability.
