Mobile Shelving System

Maximize storage capacity in limited space with shelving systems that move on rails

Mobile shelving systems are high-density storage solutions where shelving units are mounted on mobile bases that move along floor-mounted rails.

By eliminating fixed aisles and opening access only where needed, mobile shelving can significantly increase storage capacity within the same footprint. This system is ideal for environments where space is limited and organized, secure storage is essential.

Why Mobile Shelving System is Suitable for You

01
Maximum Space Utilization

By removing permanent aisles, you can increase storage capacity without expanding your room or building area.

02
Ideal for Space-Constrained Environments

Well suited for offices, archives, spare parts rooms, and back-of-house areas where floor space is limited.

03
Organized and Controlled Access

Shelves move only when required, helping maintain organized storage while improving safety and access control.

04
Flexible and Scalable Design

Shelving layouts can be configured and expanded to accommodate different item sizes and changing storage needs.

How Does Mobile Shelving System Work?

Mobile shelving systems consist of shelving units installed on powered or mechanical mobile bases that travel along rails fixed to the floor.

To access stored items, the shelving units are moved to create an open aisle at the required location. Once access is complete, the shelves can be closed again to maximize space utilization.

System design—including shelf height, depth, load capacity, rail layout, and control type—is tailored based on item characteristics, room layout, and operational requirements.

This setup enables high-density storage with easy and efficient access.

System Structure

Mobile shelving systems are built from the following main components:

  • Mobile bases – mechanical or motorized units supporting the shelving
  • Rails – floor-mounted tracks guiding shelf movement
  • Shelving frames and shelves – standard shelving components mounted on mobile bases

Optional features and accessories include:

  • Manual hand-crank or powered control systems
  • Safety locks and anti-pinch mechanisms
  • End panels and back panels
  • Label holders and dividers
  • Load signage and system indicators

These features help ensure safe operation, durability, and long-term performance.
